Lebanon junior named to Pennsylvania all-state first team
Lebanon junior Kailah Correa was selected to the Pennsylvania Sports Writers All-State Girls Basketball Team, receiving first-team honors in Class 6A. Correa, a 5-foot-4 junior, averaged 19.0 points per game this season, in which the Cedars won Lancaster-Lebanon League Section One, appeared in the L-L championship game, placed third in District 3 and lost in the first round of the state tournament.

Lower Dauphin softball pulls away late against Bishop McDevitt
Lower Dauphin’s softball team pulled away late with nine runs in the sixth inning to ice a 22-5 win over Bishop McDevitt on Friday. Megan Mayberry led the Falcons at the plate, going 4-for-6 with three runs and three RBIs. Katelyn Strawser (3-for-5, two runs, four RBIs) and Carissa Wenner (3-for-4, three runs, three RBIs) both knocked three hits apiece. Laurel Zubler (2-for-3, three runs), Sydney Matincheck (2-for-3, two runs, two RBIs) and Sadie Borrelli (2-for-4, run, two RBIs) all recorded multiple hits as well. Borrelli earned the win with six strikeouts to four hits in five innings.

Hershey’s softball team exploded for 16 runs in the fourth inning to cement a 21-0 rout of Central Dauphin East on Friday. McKinley Ebert was the fuse of that TNT, having driven in five runs on three hits. Talie Kaag scored four runs while batting 3-for-4 with an RBI. Madison Shultz recorded two hits to go with three runs scored and three runs driven in. Sarah Young (2-for-4), Grace O’Connor (2-for-4), Jadyn Armogida (3-for-4) and Chloe Maitrejean all drove in two runs each and Emma Galvez plated three runs as well.
