Two suspects arrested in Lawton homicide investigation

LAWTON, Okla. ( KFDX/KJTL ) — Two suspects have been booked into the Lawton City Jail and charged with murder in connection to a shooting death on April 23, 2024.
Officials with the Lawton Police Department on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, issued a press release on Facebook that said officers were dispatched to 622 Southwest Bishop Road for a report of a shooting a week earlier on Tuesday, April 23.
When officers arrived at the Bellaire Apartments, they located a victim later identified as Donovan Moncree in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds.
According to the release, a witness at the scene told officers that two unknown males took off running after the gunshots were fired.
Authorities said after interviews, follow-ups and reviewing evidence, detectives determined that Derrick Lyles and Jakievion Johnson were suspects in this homicide.
Officers said both Lyles and Johnson came to the Public Safety Building to speak to detectives in reference to the homicide. After interviewing the two suspects, both were booked into the Lawton City Jail and charged with first-degree murder.
The investigation is ongoing.
