Washington County to open 19 early voting sites ahead of Nov. 3

Early voting in Arkansas begins on Monday, Oct. 19. For some counties in Arkansas, their county courthouse may be the only place they can vote early for the two weeks leading up to Election Day, Nov. 3. In Washington County, there will be 19 different locations open for voters to cast their ballot at some point during that two-week period. Jennifer Price is the director of elections in Washington County. She says having this many locations available in early voting makes a big difference on Nov. 3.

Planners forward rezoning east of Crossover Road to City Council for approval

FAYETTEVILLE — Planning commissioners supported rezoning some vacant land next to a senior living community after hearing concerns about the proposal from its residents. The Planning Commission voted 6-1 on Monday to support rezoning 4.2 acres east of Crossover Road and Glory Drive from agricultural use to a residential zone allowing up to 12 dwelling units per acre. The City Council will make the final decision on the rezoning during a future meeting.
