Extensive test finds 5 tornado sirens with malfunctions in Fort Smith
FORT SMITH, Ark. — According to the Fort Smith Police Department (FSPD), a comprehensive test of the city's tornado sirens, found five of the 31 sirens with malfunctions. The extensive test, held on April 17, resulted in the sirens being partially defective or not working at all. Officials said the siren at Riley Farms was found to be defective but was fixed "on-site after clearing a carbon build-up."

Deadly wrong-way crash sends car over barrier, plummeting 100 feet below I-40
OKLAHOMA CITY — A woman died after a wrong-way crash Saturday morning sent her car over the Fort Smith junction near the Oklahoma River. Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers said it was completely dark when a wrong-way driver crashed into 35-year-old T'Aundra Washington and her boyfriend. Their car was launched over the barrier wall at the junction, falling 100 feet below the interstate.
