LAURINBURG, N.C. (WBTW) — It’s time for another edition of First Responder Friday as News13 honors Grand Strand and Pee Dee first responders.

This week’s nominee is Dakota Goins with the Laurinburg Police Department. Goins has been serving his community since the age of 16. He served as a volunteer firefighter for six years and has been a law enforcement officer for four.

Goins plays a significant role in community policing and outreach and always strives to be a positive representation of law enforcement. He loves being involved with students in the community and works hard to be a great role model.

He’s well known for his detailed work involving criminal investigations and speed enforcement.

Patrolman Goins also serves as a board member of the Southern States Police Benevolent Association, which covers multiple states and over 65,000 sworn law enforcement professionals.

If you would like to nominate someone for First Responder Friday, send an email to NEWS@WBTW.COM . Tell us why you chose that person and attach a photo.
