PHOTOS: Lady Raiders at Scotland

LAURINBURG — The Lady Raider soccer team is back in the win column.

Snapping a four-match slide, Richmond defeated Sandhills Athletic Conference foe Scotland High School 8-0 Thursday.

Scoring three goals in the first half, and five more in the final 40 minutes of play, the Lady Raiders used hat tricks from senior Allie Rodgers and freshman Colbie Covington.

Also scoring second-half goals were sophomore Jentry Denson and freshman Mariana Gonzalez.

Junior goalkeeper Quanna Bostic played the majority of the match between the posts, with senior backup keeper Jenna Gardner keeping the shutout intact during the final 14 minutes.

Richmond (8-10-3, 4-6-1 SAC) ends its regular season Friday on the road at Lee County High School (17-4, 9-2 SAC). The varsity only match will begin at 6 p.m.
