Couple charged with child neglect
A North Matewan couple were arrested earlier this week on child neglect charges. According to Mingo Magistrate Court documents, on May 13, officers went to the residence of Curtis Andrew Meade, 24, and Katie Jo Meade, 23, after receiving a mandated call from a STAT EMS worker, who court documents said had been dispatched to the residence, reporting on the living conditions inside the home.
A visit to the past, for inspiration
On May 16 and 17, the upcoming graduates of Johnson Central High School visited their former elementary schools for a final walk through the halls where their educational journeys began. During the visit, the seniors offered advice to the elementary students, and they received advice from the elementary students, who encouraged them to remember to have some fun every now and then.
