Usher said he was just as “disappointed” as his fans after his star-studded Lovers & Friends festival was canceled hours before showtime.
After festival organizers shared that the concert, which was scheduled to begin Saturday in Las Vegas, was axed due to bad weather, the “U Got It Bad” singer took to X to share his frustration.
“Mannn…I’m just as disappointed as you are,” he tweeted Saturday. “We were getting ready to turn up and celebrate today.”
However, Usher said he had to “follow the orders of city officials and the National Weather Service for everyone’s protection.”
The “Yeah!” crooner, 45, said he is standing “strong” in his belief that “everything happens for a reason.”
“I’m sorry we won’t get to see each other today, but know that I am always working on something to express my heartfelt gratitude for each and every one of you who continue to support me,” he continued.
“I’ll see you soon.”
Festival organizers notified fans about the abrupt cancellation less than 24 hours before the first performances were set to kick off.
“Lovers & Friends Festival organizers have been monitoring the weather for several days and proactively preparing for a windy Saturday,” they shared on their website late Friday night.
“However, the National Weather Service has now issued a High Wind Warning, including dangerous 30-35 mph sustained winds with gusts potentially more than 60 mph.”
The festival organizers said the last-minute decision to cancel was “incredibly heartbreaking” to make due to all of the fans who traveled from all over the world.
“We’ve worked hard to create an amazing event for you, and we are just as disappointed as you are,” they concluded.
Fans who purchased tickets directly through Front Gate Tickets will receive a refund within 30 days.
In addition to Usher, several other A-listers were slated to perform Saturday, including Janet Jackson, Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, Ciara, Brandy, Ne-Yo, Ja Rule, Ashanti, the Backstreet Boys and many more.
