5 arrests made in 2022 Las Vegas double-murder

Las Vegas, NV (KXNT) - Las Vegas Metro Police have arrested five men and charged them with open murder for a fatal shooting at a valley apartment nearly two years ago.

The shooting on Cindysue Street, near Lake Mead and Rancho, happened back in July of 2022.

The investigation led by the LVMPD Homicide Section indicates the victims were inside an apartment when two unidentified male suspects knocked at the door. The woman answered the door and an argument ensued between the victims and suspects. The argument escalated when the male victim and one of the suspects got into a physical confrontation. During the struggle, the suspect produced a firearm and shot the victims. The suspects then fled the area.

On April 8, 2024, the Criminal Apprehension Team arrested Emerson Hewitt and booked him into the Clark County Detention Center for two counts of open murder.

On April 17, 2024, the Criminal Apprehension Team arrested Damion Mixon, Larry Young, Mark Burton, and Nasir Leggroan and booked all four into the Clark County Detention Center, each for two counts of open murder.

Details surrounding the arrests of the quintet have not been released.
