    Mother sentenced after infant dies from fentanyl

    LARKSVILLE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A woman was sentenced on Monday for the death of her 16-day-old child.

    In November of 2022, 28/22 News reported that a baby was being fed breast milk that contained traces of fentanyl.

    Jennifer Travinski was arrested and charged with the death of her newborn child.

    • Murder of the third degree: 20 years to 40 years
    • Endangering the welfare of a child: 4 years to 8 years
    • Manufacture/deliver/possession with intent to manufacture or deliver: 2.5 years to 5 years

    Officials have sentenced Travinski to a total of 26.5 years to 53 years with 493 days credited from time served.
