White Lake elementary students receive visit from American Legion Auxiliary
Thursday, White Lake School 3K-3rd grade classrooms had a visit from Pam Buettner, Myra Oatman, and Georgia Heistad, members of the local American Legion Auxiliary. They spoke with students about the meaning of Memorial Day and how it is meant to honor fallen veterans. Students also learned how veterans make paper poppies that are then used to raise funds for current veterans. Lastly, the ladies handed each child a small flag, and spoke about the proper way to handle the American flag. The students then parade down the hallway and out the school’s front door before placing the flags in front of the building for the holiday weekend.
County agrees to join city in joint task force
ANTIGO — The Langlade County Board has unanimously agreed to enter into a joint task force with the Antigo City Council, a move meant to enhance communication between the entities regarding matters in which they have shared interests. The White Lake School Spring Band and Choir Concert was held May 14. At the conclusion of the concert, the National School Choral Award was presented to Athena R. and the John Philip Sousa Band Award was presented to Blake L.
