Washington D.C. Man Sentenced to 3 Years for Illegal Firearm, Drug Dealing Near School
Washington D.C. man, DeAngelo Wayne McNeil, 37, is back behind bars, sentenced to a three-year stint for crimes involving an illegal firearm and crack cocaine dealing near a school. Chief U.S. District Judge James E. Boasberg slapped McNeil with a 36-month prison term, followed by six years under the watchful eye of supervised release, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
Senior Skip Day Ends in Tragic Shooting at Schrom Hills Park
Friday, April 19 was Senior Skip Day for Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) senior students. This year the day ended in an eruption of violence at Schrom Hills Park, leaving five teens shot, two of whom remain in the hospital. The day is a tradition dating back decades in which seniors skip school for a day sometime during their finals weeks of classes and gather to have fun together. It’s not organized or sanctioned by PGCPS but it’s well known and recurs each spring. One parent said flyers about the day had been circulating in area high schools.
Mt. Pleasant man charged in connection with Jan. 6 riot in Washington, D.C.
A man arrested Thursday in Mt. Pleasant is accused of following a crowd into the U.S. Capitol during the riot on Jan. 6, 2021. William Irvin Fuller, 31, was taken into custody on federal charges of entering and remaining in a restricted building, disorderly or disruptive conduct in a restricted building, disorderly conduct in a Capitol building and parading, picketing or demonstrating in a Capitol building. He’s free on $25,000 unsecured bond.

Alexandria CVS stores ransacked of cosmetics and suspect gets busted in Maryland
A Hyattsville man suspected of stealing thousands worth of cosmetic items from multiple CVS stores in Alexandria was arrested with two others in Maryland earlier this month. The three Maryland men are suspected of stealing more than $100,000 in merchandise from Target and other stores throughout the region and were arrested on April 19 by a deputy from the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office. They were charged with grand larceny, possession of stolen goods with the intent to sell and conspiracy to commit retail theft of more than $50,000 in five days.
