TDOT reducing speed limit temporarily on part of Highway 52

The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) is conducting a temporary traffic shift and speed limit change on State Route 52 in Sumner County, officials announced. Starting Thursday, Sept. 24, State Route 52 was to experience a traffic shift, or slight relocation of travel lanes, east of Lyon Drive to near Searcy Lane for the remaining construction of a box culvert to be placed underneath SR 52. As part of the traffic shift, the posted speed limit in this area (approximately one mile) will be reduced from 40 mph to 30 mph to enhance safety through the work zone.
