Baseball Recap: Garden City snaps three-game streak of losses on the road
It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Garden City ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Scott Beavers 15-13. Patrol confirms 16-year-old died in Kansas crash
FINNEY COUNTY—Friends started an online fundraiser to assist the family of 16-year-old Israel Adrian Garcia of Garden City who died in an accident just after 6:30a.m. April 22, in Finney County. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a vehicle was southbound in the 4600 Block of Big Lowe Road.
Liberal Ties Garden City at Redskin Field
The Liberal girls soccer team played to a 1-1 tie with the Garden City Buffaloes Tuesday night at the Gary Cornelsen Sports Complex. Garden scored on a first half penalty kick and led 1-0 at the half. Liberal tied it on a Hailey Contreras header into the goal after a free kick bounced off the GC goalies. Garden City is 9-3-2 overall and 4-1-2 in the WAC. Liberal is 7-6-2 and 2-4-1 in the WAC. Liberal hosts Dodge City Thursday night at 6:30 at Redskin Field.
