Jewelry business in Garden City robbed, suspect flees
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - A man held a victim at gunpoint, robbed a Garden City jewelry shop and fled, according to Garden City police. The incident happened Saturday afternoon at Joyeria America, at 308 E. Fulton Street in Garden City. The suspect forcibly moved the victim throughout the business, demanding money and jewelry, before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of property.
LHS Softball Closes Out Home Season with Competitive Loss
The Garden City Buffaloes topped the Liberal Redskins in softball Friday afternoon at the National Beef Sports Complex, but it was close. The Buffaloes prevailed 5-2 on a sunny Friday afternoon with temperatures in the lower 70’s. LHS scored in the first. GCHS plated five in the second. Elizabeth Mannel had three hits. Zoey Torres, Lexi Miller, and Taylor Harding had two hits a piece. Zoey Torres pitched five strong innings in relief allowing just one hit with three strikeouts and one walk. Garden City is 9-15 overall and finishes 6-6 in the WAC. Liberal is 6-17 overall and finishes 1-12 in the WAC.
⛳ Trinity Catholic wins 2A regional in Syracuse
SYRACUSE, Kan. — The Hutchinson Trinity Catholic Celtics boys golf team claimed the class 2A regional championship in far southwest Kansas on Monday. The Celtics shot a 344 team total, eight strokes better than the host Syracuse Bulldogs. Garden Plain came in third place and Inman in fourth in the team standings.

Kalan Ellis no longer with Syracuse football
Syracuse football has some more clarity about its roster for the 2024 season. CuseNation.com has learned that offensive lineman Kalan Ellis is no longer with the program, according to sources. Ellis was listed at 6-6, 375 pounds on the spring football roster. He has two years of eligibility remaining should he choose to continue his career elsewhere.
