Wayne County fire heavily damages building
A fire in Wayne County heavily damaged a building. Several crews from Lackawanna and Wayne counties were called out to a fire shortly after 8pm Sunday night along J & J Road near Hamlin. Fire crews battled the flames for hours. The building contained farm equipment and is believed to be a total loss. A fire marshal will investigate the cause of that fire in Wayne County.

Honesdale Borough Council agrees to remove older playground set in Central Park
The old playground equipment in Honesdale's Central Park, sitting next to the newer, more colorful version, is expected to be removed. Councilor James Hamill, who chairs the Parks & Recreation Committee, said at the April 22 borough council meeting that the Department of Public Works (DPW), some years ago, reported that the tunnels were cracked, and were quickly removed. During a litter cleanup on the Saturday before the council meeting, Hamill said he and Councilor Tiffany Rogers noticed rust showing on the pieces that remain.

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — A Pennsylvania man is accused of killing his grandmother because he thought she was the devil.The Pocono Record reported that 28-year-old George Sisco of Milford, Pike County is charged with criminal homicide after he allegedly stabbed his grandmother, 67-year-old Margie Finlay, and set her on fire. According to the criminal complaint, obtained by the Pocono Record, the assistant chief of the Milford Fire Department responded to a house fire on Oak Court in Milford Township at around noon on April 26.
