Submerged, empty car found near Ensign Pond Road
On Nov. 21 at 9:40 p.m., the North Hudson Fire Department reported a traffic accident that resulted in a car submerged in the water near Ensign Pond Road. At 10 p.m., Ranger Quinn responded to the potential water rescue, but determined the car was empty. New York State Police located the driver in Moriah and are handling the investigation.
State Police charge person with criminally possessing a controlled substance in Lewis County
DIANA- A resident from the Adirondacks is faced with an accusation in the wake of a suspicious person complaint in Northern Lewis County, authorities say. Shauna Donnelly, 41, of Lake Placid, NY was arrested Monday afternoon by the New York State Police (Carthage). Donnelly is officially charged with one misdemeanor count of criminally possessing a controlled substance in the seventh-degree.
State Police begins move from Lewis complex
LEWIS | New York State Police Troop B Zone 3 will be completely moved out of the Essex County Public Safety Building by Dec. 1. The Essex County Public Safety Building has been the State Police Troop B Zone 3’s headquarters since 2008 when it signed a 10-year lease. That lease ended in 2018, but the State Police has paid month-to-month since then. Essex County determined it needs the 12,000 square feet of space the police occupy for its own staff and storage.

Lost 80-year-old hunter found following overnight, multi-agency search
On Nov. 17 at 7:25 p.m., Ray Brook Dispatch received a call about two overdue hikers hiking Mount Marcy. The pair from Brewster had proper clothing and headlamps and texted friends at 4:42 p.m. to advise they were on their way down the trail. At 9:02 p.m., Ranger Lewis made voice contact with the hikers and located them a short time later near an old ski trail. One of the subjects had severe leg cramps. Ranger Duchene hiked in with extra water for the pair. Rangers helped the hikers back to Adirondak Loj at 10:20 p.m.
Lake Placid man facing felony DWI charge
LAKE PLACID | A routine traffic stop in the Village of Lake Placid recently led to a felony arrest and numerous citations. Lake Placid Village Police pulled Sean B. Robinson over on Saranac Avenue mid-afternoon Nov. 19 when he was allegedly found to be intoxicated, without a license and driving an uninspected, unregistered and uninsured vehicle.
Missing RIT student could be in the Adirondacks
Authorities are looking for a Rochester Institute of Technology student who may be in the Adirondacks. Twenty-two-year-old Matthew Grant was last seen at 10 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20. According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, he was wearing a green jacket and blue jeans, and driving a charcoal gray 2014 Jeep Cherokee with Michigan license plate ESR 8141.
Pine Bush Man Nabbed Using Fake ID, Police Say
Orange County resident Umran Z. Haider, age 32, of Pine Bush, a hamlet of Crawford, was stopped in Essex County in the town of Malone driving a 2006 gray Toyota Sequoia. New York State Police troopers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, as the troopers were interviewing Haider and reviewing the driver's license photo, they concluded the driver lied about who he was, state police said.

New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Forest Rangers located an ATV in Titusville State Forest. It turned out to be connected to a missing vulnerable adult case the New York State Police were investigating in Malone, New York.

WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWTI) — New York State Police are warning the public of a scam that is making its way through Northern New York. In a press release, troopers said there are people posing to be Spectrum workers and requesting people to pay for their bills with gift cards. This going on in the Essex, Hamilton, Franklin, Clinton and St. Lawrence county areas.
