Kitchin and Glad named Lake Oswego High School Athletes of the Week for May 1

Kitchin is a senior on the Lake Oswego High School girls’ varsity tennis team, and Glad is a senior on the varsity track team.

Bringing their best to the Lakers for their final year in their high school careers, senior athletes Ava Kitchin and Henry Glad have been named Lake Oswego High School’s Athletes of the Week for the week of May 1st.

Kitchin, a senior on the girls’ varsity tennis team, has been an exceptional leader for the Lakers, with a winning record at #1 and #2 singles this year. “[Kitchin] leads by example,” her coach said, “working hard at every practice, organizing teambuilding activities, and encouraging a positive cohesiveness amongst her teammates.”

Competing in the javelin for the varsity track team, senior Henry Glad has been off to a strong start this season with six first place tosses and two seconds. Glad threw a personal best of 171’9” on March 20th against Oregon City. Glad is not over either, as his throws during the month of April have been consistently approaching his PR.
