Azari and Buchanan named Lakeridge High School Athletes of the Week for May 1

Azari and Buchanan are both seniors on the Lakeridge varsity track team.

Bringing skill to Lakeridge’s track team in discus, hurdles, and field events, senior athletes Chris Azari and Micah Buchanan have been named Lakeridge High School’s Athletes of the Week for the week of May 1st.

Competing in the discus for the Pacers, Azari “is a model worker,” his coach said, “always trying to improve and helping his teammates get better. He's finally seeing this pay off with several big throws in recent meets.” Azari threw a personal best of 148’ 3” at the Wilsonville Invitational and followed that up with a first-place throw against Oregon City.

Competing in hurdles and field events, Buchanan has also had a strong showing in recent competitions. In the Pacers meet against Lake Oswego, Buchanan won the 110m hurdles in a personal best time of 15.89, the discus with a throw of 92’1” and the high jump with a personal best leap of 6’0”.
