New library branch in Lake Grove is right approach

I was pleased to read that the city of Lake Oswego and the Lake Oswego School District are in conversation about the possibility of repurposing Lake Grove Elementary School to include a branch library for residents of the west side of town (https://www.lakeoswegoreview.com/news/lake-oswego-school-district-weighs-the-future-of-lake-grove-elementary-property/article_84567888-e314-11ee-b499-7f43ef39975b.html). I hope that these negotiations are successful and, if so, talk of relocating our current library will be set aside. Our existing library is part of a cluster of civic assets on the east side of town important to those of us, especially seniors, who have chosen to live near the library, the adult community center, the post office, the transit hub and shopping. The Lake Oswego Public Library is a community gem. Upgrading the existing library and creating a new branch in Lake Grove would be the ideal solution for serving existing local users and making library services more accessible to residents on the other side of town.
