Maui Chef makes top 3 in Gordon Ramsey’s Next Level Chef competition

HONOLULU (KHON) – Maui’s culinary sensation, Chef Zach Laidlaw, has secured his spot in the top three of this season’s “Next Level Chef” with Gordon Ramsay.

“It’s all the emotions. The highs, the lows. I’ve worked so hard to get here, and now, the finale is just around the corner,” said Laidlaw, who is currently the Executive Chef and Vice President of Experiences at Hua Momona Farms in Lahaina, Maui.

Viewers witnessed Chef Laidlaw’s culinary prowess in action, as he crafted delectable dishes amidst intense competition. His innovative approach and determination have earned him accolades and admiration from fans worldwide.

In a special cooking demonstration, Chef Laidlaw treated KHON2 viewers with a glimpse of his culinary finesse with a coconut sponge cake dessert, showcasing the farm-to-table ethos he champions at his executive chef position at Hua Momona Farms.

When asked about the upcoming season finale, Chef Laidlaw discussed the critical role of time management in the final challenge, where contestants are tasked with overseeing their own time for the first time in the competition.

“I do feel like I’m a better chef now,” said Laidlaw.

He remained tight-lipped about the ultimate winner.

The season finale of Next Level Chef airs Thursday, May 9 at 7pm on KHON2.
