LAFAYETTE, La. ( KLFY ) — The federal, district and city courthouses in downtown Lafayette were all evacuated this morning due to a bomb threat. The threat was called in to all three courthouses, officials said.

Streets around the three buildings were blocked off before they were cleared one by one. The federal courthouse was reopened at about 12:30 p.m. and the parish courthouse is scheduled to open at 1 p.m.

Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Valerie Ponseti said the threats were called in to 911 just before 9 a.m. today. The LPSO is responsible for security in the district courthouse, and the Lafayette City Marshal’s office is responsible for the city courthouse.
