Authorities say the Lafayette Public Library was evacuated on Saturday due to an anonymous bomb threat.Lafayette police were on scene searching the evacuated building as the library.The department says there is no current threat ongoing at the library.
Woman charged with second degree murder following Breaux Bridge shooting

A Plumville man who is already awaiting court action in a burglary case has been charged with defiant trespass for an incident in Rayne Township. State police have accused 45-year-old Michael Buterbaugh of trespassing at a home along Route 85 on September 19th. The victims are a 47-year-old man and 59-year-old woman. Buterbaugh has had multiple cases come before Indiana County Court in the past and is currently awaiting court action in a felony burglary and trespassing case that originated in March.

Broussard Police Department honors retired K-9 that died
BROUSSARD, La. (KLFY) – The Broussard Police Department announced that retired police K-9 “Sill” died on Sunday, Sep. 24. According to the Broussard Police Department Facebook page, K-9 “Sill” served the City of Broussard from 2015 until his retirement in 2022.
