A Lafayette man has been charged with stalking and intimidation Monday morning after allegedly threatening his ex-girlfriend.

Lafayette Police responded to a residence on April 24 following a report of stalking, according to a probable cause affidavit.

The victim reportedly told the officer she had recently broken up with 33-year-old Marcus Black and he had since been sending her unwanted text messages and calls.

The woman said she was in fear for her life, the affidavit says.

“(The victim) stated Black had threatened to break her jaw and had been at her apartment the previous day threatening to hurt and kill her,” the affidavit said. “Black had threatened to report her to Child Protective Services as well as to disseminate a nude photograph of her.”

The woman allegedly blocked Black’s number multiple times but he called and texted her from new numbers.

When speaking to police, the woman was “pacing around, speaking quickly, and appeared visibly nervous,” according to the affidavit.

Black allegedly admitted he had been sending text messages to the woman using different phone numbers.

Black “would not openly admit to making threats but did admit he was shit-talking when he said he would have his cousin break (the victim’s) jaw,” the affidavit says.

On Monday morning, Black was charged with 2 counts of stalking and 1 count of intimidation.

As of Monday afternoon, he is currently in the Tippecanoe Country Jail according to online jail records.
