Family honors Alexavier Pedrin with tree planting in Myrick Park

LA CROSSE (WKBT) -- The family of Alexavier Pedrin planted a tree in Myrick Park Friday morning in his honor.

6-year-old Alexavier Pedrin was found dead in his Medary home in February of 2023.

Since Pedrin's death, his family has been raising awareness for child abuse through the group "Justice for Alexavier."

Alexavier's cousin said they chose to plant a tree in remembrance because they can last forever.

31-year-old Josie Dikeman is charged with first-degree intentional homicide in connection with his death.

She's currently in jail on a $250,000 cash bond.
