Applefest reveals 2024 button design

LA CRESCENT, Minn. (WKBT) -- The La Crescent Applefest hosted their annual button reveal Friday.

The top three button design candidates along with family and friends were invited to Wieser Park Pavillion this evening. The Applefest board and royalty announced this year's winner of the 2024 Applefest button.

Students in the La Crescent School District are asked to draw and submit their button designs each year.

The current Miss La Crescent says the experience creates a special bond with the community.

"I remember doing it when I was a kid and it was really cool for me to feel like I was part of the community in that way, so I think it's really important for the youth," says Kamryn Jorgeson, Miss La Crescent 2023.

The buttons were on sale tonight for $5. The 2024 Applefest will be September 20th through the 22nd.
