Benefit auction held at Nicholas Stoltzfus Homestead
A benefit auction helps support a treasured historic home in Berks County. It was held outside the 1700s Nicholas Stoltzfus Homestead in Wyomissing. The auction features Amish foods, handmade quilts, vintage books and much more. While there, people got to tour the historic house and check out the grounds.
Kutztown survives to knock off Shippensburg and advancer in the winner's bracket
QUAKERTOWN, Pa - After a rout in game one of the PSAC Tournament, Kutztown would survive a comeback from Shippensburg in a high scoring affair for the 13-11 win. The Golden Bears laid it on early in the contest taking their 4-0 lead and making it a 7-0 lead in the third inning. Brianna Hughes with a 3-run home run in the inning. They would build their lead up to 10-3 before the Raiders stormed back to tie and take a 1-run lead.
Allentown holds Cinco de Mayo event
Today is Cinco de Mayo, and Allentown was among the areas holding celebrations. Crowds turned out in center city to enjoy authentic Mexican food, refreshments and entertainment. Cinco de Mayo is held May 5 each year to celebrate Mexico's victory over the Second French Empire in 1862.
