The No. 1 Vols (43-10, 19-8 SEC) are a game back of first place in the SEC heading into their final regular-season series against No. 23 South Carolina (33-18, 13-14), which starts Thursday (6:30 p.m. ET, SEC Network+).
UT trails Kentucky by a game and is tied with Arkansas for second. The Vols have secured a top-four seed in the SEC Tournament.
Tennessee won the SEC regular-season title in 2022. It won the SEC East in 2021 and 2022. It won the SEC Tournament in 2022.
Tennessee has won four straight series against South Carolina and has not lost a series to the Gamecocks since Vitello's first season in 2018. Vitello is 9-6 against USC and coach Mark Kingston, who was hired the same year as Vitello.
