No. 1 Tennessee heads to Nashville this weekend for an in-state rivalry series with Vanderbilt that never disappoints.

The Volunteers (40-9, 17-7 SEC) are second in the SEC and are looking to win their eighth consecutive conference series, extending the longest stretch in the league.

Christian Moore has been doing wonders at the plate for the Volunteers. The junior second baseman won NCBWA National Player of the Month in April and currently leads the conference with a .430 batting average and 46 hits in conference play. He's racked up 15 home runs,  97 total bases and  32 RBIs.

A major reason for the Vols' success to this point has been their relief pitching. Tennessee's bullpen has a 2.78 ERA in 68 innings with 80 strikeouts and just 16 walks while holding opposing hitters to a .234 batting average over the last four series.

The Commodores (33-16, 11-13 SEC) come into the series fifth in the SEC East and in search of a series win after dropping their previous two to No. 12 Mississippi State and No. 14 Georgia.

RJ Austin has been Vanderbilt's catalyst for offensive production. The sophomore leads the team in hits (60), runs (41), RBI (47) and stolen bases (21) and is tied for third with five home runs.

Bryce Cunningham is taking the hill first for the Commodores on Friday night and comes in with a 6-3 record across 12 starts (64.0 innings). The six wins are tied with Carter Holton for most on the team.
