Two Harbors Council; Body Worn Cameras & Volunteer Tree Planters
Two Harbors Police Chief Rick Hogenson, spoke with the City Council about the department’s move toward having its officers wear body-worn cameras. This move mirrors decisions made recently by the Silver Bay Police Department and the Lake County Sheriff’s Department. Use of body-worn cameras helps to enhance safety for both the public and for police officers by documenting events and capturing evidence. Cameras help preserve both audio and visual information for use in court cases and can help law enforcement agencies evaluate police interactions with the public. Hogenson’s presentation was primarily informational for the Council and does have the support of Council members. Residents will soon be invited to ask questions and post comments concerning the move toward the use of body-worn cameras and should watch for the opportunity to do so on the City’s web site.
