Well I hope it’s been a Happy Mother’s Day! Today the cloud cover just wouldn’t let up which kept our temperatures at bay in the mid to upper 70s for most of us. Silver lining was that the sunshine would’ve energized the storms we saw earlier today which turned out to be beneficial rainfall for us and not severe weather. We get a break from the rain... for a couple days
Other than a few spotty showers and thunderstorms, Central Texas avoided the rainy & stormy weather today. Skies will gradually clear throughout the night, setting the stage for some really nice weather for Tuesday! We’ll kick off Tuesday with wonderful weather in the upper 50s and low 60s under clear skies with continued clear skies bringing highs close to average in the mid-80s. Sunny skies won’t hang around forever, though, because we’re expecting our next storm system to arrive later this week. We likely won’t see much more than a stray shower or thunderstorm Wednesday night with rain chances near 20% with highs in the mid-80s, but storm chances should climb Wednesday night and into Thursday. We’re yet again expecting a few different rounds of storms and heavy rain to push through with rain chances peaking near 70% Thursday. There’s still a fair amount of uncertainty regarding where the heaviest axis of rain may arrive and whether or not severe storms will form, but at least for now we’re forecasting another 1″ to 2″+ of rain to fall from Wednesday night through the pre-dawn hours on Friday.
