Haven Girl Scout among scholarship winners
HAVEN, Kan. — Congratulations to four graduating Girl Scouts for being awarded scholarships to pursue their goals in higher education. Three Girl Scouts earned the Sandy Remsberg Education Scholarship. This scholarship exists to help girls realize their dreams. One focus area for this scholarship is to increase participation and support girls with financial need and in under-represented groups.
Fager: Poll workers needed for upcoming elections
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Reno County Deputy Elections Clerk Jenna Fager said they are always looking for more people to work at the polls on election day. "In Reno County, we hire around 200 board workers every election to work all of the polling locations," Fager said. "We do require that you go through two hours of training prior to working at the polls, but we do pay $7.25 an hour for regular judges and $8.75 for supervising judges."
K-14 and 4th ramps closed next week
RENO COUNTY — The exit ramp from northbound K-14 to Fourth Avenue is expected to close Monday, April 22, and reopen around 10 a.m. Thursday, April 25. The entrance ramp from Fourth Avenue to northbound K-14 is expected to close Tuesday, April 23, and reopen around 10 a.m. Saturday, April 27.
