    Portage HS scores | May 1: Roosevelt baseball rallies past Highland in Suburban thriller

    Roosevelt rallied from a four-run deficit for a 6-5 Suburban American baseball victory over Highland Wednesday.

    After the visiting Hornets pushed their lead to 5-1 with a three-run fourth, the Rough Riders answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning and three more in the fifth. Ryan Schromm doubled, drew two walks and scored three of Roosevelt's six runs, and Trystan Page earned the complete-game win.

    Mogadore 12, Garfield 4

    Maddox Smith carried a no-hitter into the fourth inning and Dylan Benedum worked his way out of a bases-loaded situation in the fifth to finish the game for the Wildcats.

    Mogadore hit the gaps all evening, with five doubles (two apiece by Tanner Buso and Cole Reese) and a triple (by Devin Graham). Graham led the Wildcats with four hits, Buso and Lehner had three hits apiece and Graham and Reese drove in a team-leading three runs apiece. Smith surrendered two runs in 4⅓ innings.

    Brandyn Bogucki led the host G-Men with two hits and two RBIs.

    Windham 14, Badger 6

    Jack Eye came a double short of the cycle, and Dylan McCune reached in all five of his plate appearances, going 3 for 3 with a home run and two walks. Nick Hopper and Brian King added two hits apiece for Windham, and King also earned the complete-game win on the mound.

    Southeast 14, Youngstown East 1

    The top of the order was electric for the Pirates, with top three hitters Bradee Blankenship, Cohen Richardson and Nate Muncy recording two hits apiece and combining to score a whopping nine runs.

    Muncy had a double and a triple to lead Southeast.

    Softball

    Aurora 10, Highland 0

    The Greenmen stayed undefeated behind McKennah Metzger's two-hit shutout and Sophie Schecterman's five RBIs.

    Schecterman doubled and tripled for Aurora, while Metzger also recorded multiple hits.

    Ravenna 21, Youngstown East 1

    The Ravens surged to a huge lead with five-plus runs in each of the first three innings.

    Angelina Fuller and Aerreona Richmond tied for Ravenna's team lead with three hits apiece.

    Boardman 12, Southeast 2

    The Pirates fell despite a huge afternoon by Morgan Muncy, who went 3 for 3 with a homer.

    Neena Truex added a double for Southeast.
