Kennewick School District announces its new Assistant Superintendent of Operations

KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Kennewick School District announced the appointment of Dr. Thomas Brillhart as the new assistant Superintendent of Operations.

Dr. Brillhart is expected to begin his role as assistant superintendent of operations on July 1.

KSD said Dr. Brillhart is the current assistant superintendent of operations for New Albany-Floyd County Consolidated Schools in Louisville, Indiana.

Dr. Brillhart has 19 years of public education experience. He has held various district leadership positions in small and larger districts. He has been interim, associate and assistant superintendent roles. He has been director of transportation and maintenance, chief financial officer, chief operations officer, curriculum/instruction/career and college readiness coordinator, and support services director.

KSD said Dr. Brillhart started his career in education as a social studies teacher, a coach and served as a high school and elementary school assistant principal before becoming a district level administrator.

Dr. Brillhart has a bachelor's degree from Indiana State University, a master's degree from Indiana State University in Educational Leadership and also has a Doctorate in Education from Oakland City University.

Superintendent Dr. Traci Pierce shared, "We are very pleased to welcome Dr. Brillhart to KSD. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience, and we are fortunate to have him join our team!"

According to KSD, assistant superintendent will help with leadership and oversight for human resources, business services, nutrition services, transportation, facilities and capital projects.

Getting to know Dr. Brillhart, he is married to Lori, a science teacher and has two daughters in high school.
