KENNEWICK, Wash. – Officials from Benton and Franklin counties spoke during the Tri-City Regional Chamber of Commerce’s “State of the Counties” membership luncheon on Wednesday, April 24 at the Three Rivers Convention Center.
The “State of the Counties” luncheon is sponsored by Community First Bank & HFG Trust.
Benton County Commissioner Michael Alvarez and Franklin County Administrator Mike Gonzalez discussed challenges and opportunities that could significantly impact the business environment in the Tri-Cities region.
The program was from 12 to 1:30 pm. Attendees also had an opportunity to network during the half hour prior to the program.
Franklin County administrator Mike Gonzalez spoke to Apple Valley News Now's Austin Reed.
"Franklin County is growing and I was really excited that our commissioner had an opportunity to present. He's our newest Commissioner, and he's really excited and it has been so impactful. I really thought he did a great job out there, really articulating his vision and a lot of the challenges that the counties face, you know, obviously budgeting is always an issue. The largest issue that we have heading forward into 2025 is the Office of Public Defense," Gonzalez said.
