Ride of Silence honors cyclists killed while biking
Halfway through a 10-mile ride on Wednesday evening, 14 cyclists coasted quietly to the curb on Lincoln Avenue in Skokie, in front of Al’s Cycle Shop. Ride leader Dave Barish and shop owner Larry Binder exchanged a handshake, but no words. Other riders nodded to Larry and to each other. The nods signified an awareness of something unremarkable, yet poignant – an awareness that none of us had been killed while biking.
ETHS baseball: Wildkits extend winning streak to 9 in a row
