It doesn't take much to do something good, and for a football player in Everman, all it took was waking up a little earlier and taking a few extra steps. "I was tired but I knew I had to be there for the kids. I wanted to brighten up their day so I had to get right," said varsity player Kay'den Brooks as he talked to NBC 5 about the Friday morning he had to be at Dan Powell Elementary School at 7:15 for a special assignment.

Sep. 20—BURLESON — In an epic district volleyball clash, the Burleson Centennial Lady Spartans hosted the Joshua Lady Owls on Tuesday night. In the early stages, the gym was deflated as Joshua brought its A-game to the Centennial High School gymnasium and claimed the first two sets of the match. However, the home team woke up and got back in the match in a big way as two monster kills from junior middle blocker Ne'Khaela Rodgers in the third set seemed to turn the momentum of the match.

TCU Equestrian had an unofficial kick-off to their 2023 season this past Thursday in an exhibition meet with Tarleton State at Bear Creek Farms in Burleson, Texas. The Frogs were dominant in all events picking up a clean 11-0 sweep of Tarleton State. TCU took the friendly meet as an opportunity to give their underclassman some competition experience with eleven riders making their debuts on Thursday.
