Oklahoma adding 'blue-collar, hardhat' wing in top JUCO prospect Jeff Nwankwo
A month ago, Jeff Nwankwo made the short, hourlong trek north from Arkansas City, Kansas, to Wichita, Kansas, to speak with a group of AAU teams. The junior college All-American, who became the newest member of Oklahoma's basketball program this week, met with the Wichita Padres to share his story, inspire and discuss his unorthodox journey to big-time college basketball — a path that began as a wide receiver at Tulane in 2021 before leading him to Cowley College and, at last, a Division-I opportunity on the hardwood. Over the course of his time speaking with the Padres, Nwankwo shared what has been the biggest lesson he learned over the last three years: the need to differentiate himself.
