HONOLULU (KHON2) — College students from the University of Hawaii at West Oahu and Chaminade University saw their hard work pay off by walking across the stage as new college graduates.

Over 200 graduates from UH West Oahu took the stage to receive their diplomas at the SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sherrif Center on Saturday.

At the Waikiki Shell, more than 600 Chaminade University students graduated from the following five schools:

    • School of Business and Communication
    • School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics
    • School of Education and Behavioral Sciences
    • School of Humanities, Arts and Design
    • School of Nursing and Health Professions

KHON2 asked some of the graduates what’s next, most of them looking forward to giving back to their community.

“I’m gonna go back home. My home is Guam actually,” said Alexander Hernandez, a psychology major. “I have a job lined up, possibly with social work. And I want to be able to help people out.”

Special education major, Evelyn Utaileuo hopes to continue working at her alma mater, Farrington High School.

Congratulations to the Spring 2024 graduates at Chaminade University and UH West Oahu!
