Analyst Makes Shocking Chiefs Prediction After Schedule Release

The Kansas City Chiefs have won back-to-back Super Bowl championships and have won three titles over the last five years. They have also participated in four Super Bowls throughout that span.

Basically, the Chiefs have been thoroughly dominant over the last half-decade, and they are aiming to continue that dominance into 2024.

As a matter of fact, Kansas City is looking to become the first team in NFL history to win three straight Super Bowls.

It’s certainly a reachable goal for the Chiefs, but it will be one heck of a journey getting there.

Just ask Fox Sports analyst Chris Carton, who thinks Kansas City may very well get off to an 0-2 start after seeing the club’s schedule for the first time.

The Chiefs open up the season by hosting the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday, Sept. 5. Carton notes that while Patrick Mahomes has had Lamar Jackson’s number, beating him in four out of five meetings, he thinks this will obviously still be a tough matchup for Kansas City.

Then, the following week, the Chiefs will play the one team that has consistently given them problems over the years: the Cincinnati Bengals.

Kansas City did beat the Bengals during the 2023 regular season, but that was with Joe Burrow sidelined. When Burrow is on the field, Cincinnati has gone 3-1 against the Chiefs.

It’s certainly an ominous-looking first couple of games for Kansas City, and Weeks 3 and 4 will not exactly be cakewalks either with matchups at Atlanta and then on the road against the division-rival Los Angeles Chargers.

The Chiefs also have to travel to the Bay Area for a Super Bowl rematch with the San Francisco 49ers in Week 7, and they also go to Buffalo to battle the Bills in Week 11. Then, later in the season, Mahomes and Co. are at Cleveland and will proceed to host the upstart Houston Texans the following week.

Make no mistake: Kansas City’s schedule is difficult, but this is the Chiefs we are talking about here. They have been the best team in the NFL for a while now, and they can absolutely beat anyone in their path.

Of course, Kansas City’s success will largely depend on the team’s health, which has generally been pretty good over the years. Key players like Mahomes and Travis Kelce have avoided injuries, which is a big reason why the Chiefs have been so successful.

We’ll see how Kansas City fares in its quest for a three-peat.
