KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Several tornado warnings were issued in the area Monday night into Tuesday morning. So far, there have been no reports of any confirmed tornadoes touching down in the metro.

However, there have been reports of snapped tree limbs and downed power lines scattered across the metro. And you might have heard those loud peals of thunder early in the morning.

The National Weather Service will be sending survey teams out later today to check out storm damage.

They plan to be around Smithville, north of Lake Lotawana, west of Grain Valley, Sedalia, and an area between Buckner and Orrick.

Utility crews are out fixing downed power lines after last night’s severe weather.

Around 1:40 a.m. Tuesday, about 9,000 outages were reported in the metro between Evergy, Independence Power and Light, and KCK BPU. As of 8 a.m., the number of outages reported were to be under 100.
