1 dead, 1 critically wounded late Monday in Northland hotel

One person was shot to death and another person critically wounded late Monday night at a Northland hotel.

Kansas City police said they were called to the hotel in the 11800 block of Northwest Plaza Circle on a reported shooting just after 11 p.m.

They found an adult male victim suffering from gunshot wounds, who was later declared dead.

The man was identified as 38-year-old Jeremy Hills.

Officers found another man suffering from gunshot wounds as well, he was taken to the hospital and is in critical condition.

A subject of interest was taken into custody, pending further investigation.

This was the second homicide Monday in Kansas City, Missouri.
