KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kauffman Stadium is home to a long legacy of baseball – and that translates to loyalty for fans, especially those at Opening Day 2024.

Some fans have decades-worth of visits under their belts with unbroken streaks on Opening Day.

Tim Brown has a long history as a part of the section 148-family.

Royals 2024 promotions include Mahomes and Bobby Witt Jr. bobbleheads

“I used to think back when it was like five in a row, I thought, ‘That’s pretty cool.’ And now I’m at 47 and it’s like, ‘I don’t know if that’s cool anymore or not. That’s a long time,'” Tim said.

“I met my wife back in 2002 out in right field,” Tim said.

“The season was ending and I think he was like, ‘Oh, I might not see her for a whole off-season.’ She asked me out on a date and we started seeing each other outside of the season,” Leesa Brown, Tim’s wife, said.

“And then the off-season came and we’re like, ‘What are we going to talk about now?'” she said with a laugh.

A dedicated Kansas City Royals fan herself, Leesa used to come to games alone. Now she rolls in with a crew, often including their children.

“We’re not going to recognize anybody this year. Emily, my daughter, made flashcards with pictures and numbers,” Leesa said.

Tim said their daughter is on streaks of her own.

“Eighteen in a row? So she can beat my record easy cause she got started at zero,” Tim said.
