Elder abuse investigation leads to arrests, plus meth and weapons seizure
ALLEGHANY COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - Two people have been arrested as part of an investigation that began with an elder abuse check. John Lloyd Webb, 46, and Margaret Ann Mullens, 30, face charges for drug possession of Schedule I or II and possession of a weapon while in possession of Schedule I or II drugs, according to the Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office. Further charges are pending against both.

Covington Fire Department sees a busy April
COVINGTON, Va. (WSET) — The Covington Fire Department had a very busy month this April, responding to 36 incidents. In a Facebook post made Saturday, the department said they received multiple calls for brush fires and structure fires in the city and alongside its mutual aid departments in Alleghany County. The department said it was often receiving several calls at a time.
