CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — Two Johnstown men are facing charges after they were allegedly caught with nearly $80,000 in various drugs, according to Cambria County District Attorney Greg Neugebauer.
In Feb. 2024, an investigation into drug trafficking was started in Johnstown, following a Drug Tip Line of suspected drug activity on the 1100 block of Solomon Street. The Johnstown Police Department, PA Office of Attorney General, Pennsylvania State Police, and Cambria County Drug Task Force conducted an investigation and applied for a search warrant.
On April 26, along with Cambria County SERT, the search warrant was executed. Dashaun CarMichael, 43, and Tishaun CarMichael 22, were arrested as a result of the search warrant.
Officers found the following items, according to the press release:
0.187 ounces of suspected crack cocaine ($530)
1.7 pounds of wet suspected heroin/fentanyl ($77,000)
230 stamp bags of suspected fentanyl ($2,300)
$2,417 in cash
A 9mm Ruger handgun
A digital scale
Police had to retrieve the stamp bags from a toilet trap and Dashaun CarMichael was attempting to destroy the heroin/fentanyl in the bathroom sink, according to Neugebauer’s release.
Dashaun CarMichael is in Cambria County Prison with bail set at 10% of $175,000. He is facing two felony charges of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, one felony of persons not to possess a firearm, two misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance and one misdemeanor charge of tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.
