CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — A Johnstown man is facing felony attempted rape charges after allegedly threatening a woman to either “call the cops or have sex with me.”

Jordan Confer, 41, is facing a felony charge of attempted rape by forcible compulsion after police were called to a residence on the 200 block of Dowling Road on April 18 on reports of a man with a gun who was threatening to harm himself and others.

One person struck by vehicle in Hollidaysburg

When police arrived, Confer had allegedly left the residence. Police spoke with the victim, who said that she had been woken up at 3 a.m. to find Confer allegedly standing over her bed intoxicated and naked, according to the criminal complaint. The victim told police that Confer allegedly forcibly removed her pants and told her that she had one of two options, to either “call the cops or have sex with me.”

Confer then allegedly forced himself onto the victim and attempted to have sex with her. He then restrained her in the bedroom she was in for an hour, according to the complaint. The victim was able to contact someone to come assist her, and when the person arrived and she attempted to go open the door, Confer allegedly would not let her out of the room.

Eventually, the victim was able to leave the room and told the person she had called to get her children and wait in the basement. At this point, Confer also emerged from the room with a gun pointed at his head, according to the complaint.

Confer allegedly threatened to shoot himself and the person in the basement with the children multiple times. The victim also noted that during this time, Confer pinned her up against a door in the kitchen and threatened to harm both her and himself, according the complaint.

Confer then told the victim that she and her children should just go back to bed, and when she tried to get her pants back on Confer allegedly pulled them off again and a physical fight ensued between the two.

The victim, the person she called for help and the children were all able to make it out of the house safely. After they left the house, Confer allegedly got into his vehicle and drove off to a different residence, where he was later found by police.

Cambria County SERT was dispatched to the residence, where Confer eventually surrendered, without incident, around noon.
