Average first fall freeze is likely in high elevation towns within the next month
BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - Sunday morning was chilly across Vermont and the North Country. Lows were in the low 50s and mid-to-upper 40s across the region. Saranac Lake even managed to drop as cold as 38 degrees! While nights that chilly are not that uncommon, they’re still an exception to the rule.

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - After a beautiful weekend, showers will move in tonight, especially in northern parts of our region. There may be locally a half inch or more of rain. It will be a warmer and more humid night with lows in the 60s. Most of the showers will end early Monday morning, but a few widely scattered showers will linger. Then, a cold front will come through during the afternoon with a more organized line of showers, mainly between 3 PM and 9 PM. The chance for thunderstorms has increased, but severe weather isn’t expected. Any showers and thunderstorms will move out Monday night.

Scattered thunderstorms today ahead of some nicer weather
BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) -Happy Thursday! We saw a few showers and thunderstorms overnight, and we’ll hang onto the chance for more showers and thunderstorms through the day ahead. There could be a few hit-or-miss showers this morning, but I think the better chance of a few showers and thunderstorms will be this afternoon. I suspect once again that a thunderstorm or two could be on the stronger side potentially featuring gusty winds and maybe some small hail. High temperatures for Thursday head back into the mid and upper 70s. Most showers should wrap up through the first part of the night ahead as lows dip into the 50s.

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - Tonight will be mainly clear before it becomes partly cloudy toward daybreak. It will be a bit cooler and less humid than recent nights with lows ranging from the upper 50s to mid-60s. Monday will be partly sunny and dry through around mid-afternoon.
