Jasper County ceremony honors lives lost in line of duty
CARTHAGE, Mo. — Lives lost in the line of duty were front and center in a Jasper County ceremony today. “On behalf of the City of Joplin, I want to recognize 21 officers who gave their lives in sacrifice to their city – Joplin. Sgt. Daniel Sheehan. End of watch, July 19, 1885. Patrolman Bert Brannon,” said JPD Asst. Chief Brian Lewis.

Carthage, MO – The Jasper County Sheriff's Office held a community safety day Saturday. The event was free of charge to the public and offered food for families as well as several activities for kids including face painting and a bounce house. There was also a swat and k-9 demonstration.
