Mallorie Kreuser of Verona outdid a trio of Janesville Parker pitchers to lead the Wildcats to a 4-1 win in Big Eight softball Thursday in Verona.

The three Vikings pitchers — Emma Terry making her varsity debut, Gentry Reed and Lilly Keller — allowed just four hits, but the Wildcats were able to capitalize on some miscues in the first three innings to go up 3-0.

Harriet Salas then hit an RBI double to center to make it 4-0 Verona.

The Vikings got a run back in the fifth when Donnavee Kong scored on an error on a ball hit by Kenedi Pryne. Parker moved runners to second and third in the top of the seventh but stranded them there.

Parker's next game is at 4:30 p.m. Friday against rival Janesville Craig. The Vikings beat the Cougars in the season's first meeting between the teams.
