Turning point: Bobo Carpenter put away a turnover in front of the net at 5:04 of the second period and the Florida Everblades went on to punish an erratic showing by the Jacksonville Icemen 4-1 in Tuesday night's Game 6 of the Kelly Cup hockey playoffs at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena.

Series status: The Everblades and Icemen are now tied 3-3 in the best-of-7 series entering the deciding Game 7.

Three stars: 1. Carpenter, Florida (two goals). 2. Matthew Wedman, Florida (two assists). 3. Cam Johnson, Florida (24 saves).

Penalty box: Jacksonville's lone goal came on the power play in the third period, when Justin McRae netted his first career Icemen goal after failing to score for the team during the regular season.

Around the rink: Turnovers proved costly as Carpenter converted from point-blank range after Florida deflected a pass from Icemen captain Christopher Brown. ... Two minutes later, Cole Moberg found the roof of the net from just inside the blue line after a clever drop-off from Josh Ho-Sang. ... Later in the third period, Logan Lambdin scored off quick passes from Joe Pendenza and Sean Josling, and Carpenter tacked on a late empty-netter. ... Matt Vernon recorded 23 saves to keep the Icemen in the game. ... Jacksonville had won the regular season series 9-1-1 against the Everblades. ... The winner Wednesday advances to meet the Orlando Solar Bears, who ousted the No. 1 seed Greenville Swamp Rabbits in six games.

Up next: The series comes down to Game 7 at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena, set for 7 p.m. Wednesday.

They said it: "I think we just need to be smarter with the puck. I think there's times where we're dumping it and we don't really have any speed behind it, and we're making too many turnovers in the neutral zone. I think we just need to get back on the same page." - Icemen defenseman Garret Cockerill.

"We've had a lot of success bouncing back all year, so I'm not expecting anything different [in Game 7]." - Icemen head coach Nick Luukko.
